Welcome to a New Drug Discovery platform
combining in silico screening, 3D-visualization and
human
heart cell validation.
The project aims to set up a new drug discovery platform that integrates several in
silico technologies
(innovative screening, interactive molecular modelling, interaction and behavior prediction, augmented
3D-visualization and de-novo in silico synthesis) with
human cellular disease model experiments.
The partners believe thata combination of their
respective expertises will significantly enhance drug lead
discovery on new promising drug targets. The drug discovery platform will be set up by working out a case
that demonstrates the working of this platform and its efficiency in reducing drug discovery time and costs.
The case will be the discovery of compounds that interfere with a certain protein-protein interaction that is
crucial in the development of heart failure. The consortium plans to discover both commercially available
compounds and generate new de-novo synthesized compounds that interfere with this interaction. The working
of these compounds will be predicted in silico and tested onhuman heart cells and human cellular disease
models, derived from heart restricted progenitor cells.
