Virtual Proteins is in the process of developing highly innovative tools, which will enhance the drug development process and will strongly reduce its costs. Based on Computer Aided Design-, Visualization-, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence techniques, Virtual Proteins’ sophisticated Virtual Protein MicroLab will offer a totally new, multi-disciplinary, approach to drug development. This approach will enable researchers to design the right medicine for a specific disease, based on an engineering process rather than a trial and error process.
The Virtual Protein MicroLab will assist researchers in converting the chemical formulas of proteins to three-dimensional structures of such proteins. Once the three-dimensional structure of a protein is known, the search for drugs which interact with such protein in a specific manner, will be much easier than under the currently applied trial and error processes. The Virtual Protein MicroLab will provide researchers with sophisticated (inter alia virtual reality-) and low cost tools, which will enable them to search for such drugs in a highly efficient manner. This will significantly reduce the time and investments needed to develop new drugs.
